Data location

Your account information and analysis results are stored in Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure your data remains secure and accessible only to you.

PDF report lifecycle

Your uploaded PDF is stored temporarily and is permanently deleted from our systems immediately after your analysis is successfully generated. If an analysis fails, the PDF is retained only long enough to allow you to retry - it is deleted once the analysis succeeds or your account is closed.

The text extracted from your report and your analysis results are retained in your account so you can access them at any time. They are deleted when you close your account.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted storage, access controls, and authentication tokens. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We will notify you as required by law if a data breach affecting your information occurs.

6. Disclosure to Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information. We share it with third parties only in the following limited circumstances:

Service providers

We engage trusted service providers to help us operate Snagger. These providers process your information only on our instructions and are contractually required to keep it confidential and handle it securely. Categories include:

  • Cloud hosting and infrastructure - stores your account and analysis data on our behalf
  • Payment processing - Stripe Inc. handles all payment card transactions. We receive only a payment reference. Stripe is governed by its own Privacy Policy
  • AI analysis processing - the text content extracted from your report is transmitted to a third-party AI service to generate your analysis. No other personal information is shared with this provider
  • Usage analytics - anonymised, aggregated data about how Snagger is used (no report content or personally identifying information is shared)

Trade referral services

When you click a trade quote link in your analysis, you are directed to hipages.com.au or serviceseeking.com.au. At that point, those services' own privacy policies apply. We share only a trade category (e.g. "plumber") with those services via the link - we do not share your name, email, report, or any other personal information.

Legal disclosure

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or a regulatory authority, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.

Business transfers

If DVF Labs is acquired, merged, or sells its assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity subject to the same privacy protections as described in this policy. We will notify you of any such change.

7. Overseas Disclosure

Some of our service providers are based outside Australia, meaning your information may be processed or stored overseas. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure those providers handle your information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

In particular, the text extracted from your report is transmitted to an AI service provider located overseas for the purpose of generating your analysis. By using Snagger and uploading a report, you consent to this overseas disclosure.

We do not disclose your email address, password, or payment information to overseas AI processing services.

8. Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you. Contact us via the contact page to request a copy.
  • Correct personal information that is inaccurate or out of date. You can update your display name directly in Settings. For email corrections, contact us.
  • Delete your account and all associated data at any time from your Settings page. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate Snagger and understand how it is used. Full details of the cookies we set, their purpose, and how to control them are set out in the Cookie Policy in our Terms of Service.

10. Complaints

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles or your privacy rights, please contact us first via the contact page. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
